Painting

I did this in Manga Studio using my Genius tablet.

Aroma

I got the job in "Aroma" after I discovered that they are the leader studio in media advertising in Egypt, they are the best, and I got a nice salary. and now I'm sitting beside my brother in the web development department.

My first task was a web animation for a website of an agency named "look" the idea was to take the double O in look "oo" and use them in animated presentation of the website pages.

I did it trying to impress the creative director, so I can transfer myself from the web development department to the creative department. I don't know if it's going to work, but they need me here in the web department. they say that my experience in web design and development exceeded my experience in drawing and animation. it was like they punched me in the face!

Abu El Futoh

This is another painting with Photoshop and Tablet, This time I'm influenced with the technique of a guy called "Abu El Futoh" who's working as a creative artist in advertising company called "Aroma", my friend "Sabry" worked with them as an animator, and now my brother is working there as a web developer. now I'm getting an offer to work there. but in web design not in animation. what a shame!

Kermit is Dead

If this supposed to mean something, I think it means that I'm not feeling well! anyway I did it using Photoshop and my Genius tablet. although I love my "Genius", but I'm wondering what a "Wacom" tablet could do?

Rock Knight

I did this sketch of a character I had in mind for some time, I'm getting used to Photoshop more and more with  the tablet.

Concept for Concept

Some of my old friends are forming a business marketing company, they called it "Concept" and they came to me to give it a brand identity. I came up with these logo concepts, the funniest thing that it was a concept for concept. if you know what I mean.

The chose a logo and I did this color variation and a presentation for business card design, to help them choosing the color scheme.

When they decided the color scheme I did this presentation for the company stationary, and they liked it. so we started printing.

Mecha

This is some sketch I did using Tablet with Fireworks, I have to say.. Fireworks is not the right choice for this.

Spectrum

I'm not sure if I should show you this. I did this job back when I was working on my graduation project. it's not that good, it was for some biotechnology company called "Spectrum", I used a purchased template design, no animation at all, few actionscript lines and I didn't do a CMS, I confess.. I did it only for money.

Hide & Seek

I don't know how to express myself out on this, but here is the thing...

• I completed  my graduation project on time.
• I got a A+ on that project, and I ranked second of my class.
• I officially graduated form college. now I have a "Bachelor of Fine Arts".

I called the movie "Hide & Seek" and here it is.. knock yourself out :D

2 Weeks

I have only 2 weeks to complete my graduation project. as with the tiny idea that I have. it's growing now to be a good plot. I added a good twist to it, and finally I'm beginning to like it. I settled down in my apartment in "Menia", I have a new powerful PC, my "Genius" tablet, and I have a big sign on my monitor that says "DON'T PANIC!" now I'm depending on my luck! speaking of luck.. lucky me I'm almost broke these days... so much spending, no income at all. my brother is fixing this, he is trying to get me a freelance web-design job. as for me I fell like coding scripting will be really confusing at the moment.

At the mean time.. I didn't start production, it's all just pre-production work, sketches, concept art, character designs, backgrounds and storyboards. I'm not going to show you this now. but here is some sketches that I did in  Manga Studio with my Genius. I did this to stop myself from panicking!

Getting Ready

I finished my final exams and now I'm getting ready to start my graduation project. I decided to use the idea that I have. anyway it's the only option now. still working on it's concept art. didn't decide the style that I will use yet. as for the main character of the film, I did these two tests.. the first one is in Flash and the second is in Manga Studio. Both drown with tablet.

Manga Studio

New savior in town. Manga Studio is a software that I've been working with latly. this thing is a bomb I'm telling you. it's designed to create Manga or Comics in general. it's mainly depends on using a pen tablet. drawing on this software gave me confidence in my Genius Tablet again.

Genius

Genius is my new friend, "Genius" is a pen Tablet that I bought to save myself, it's funny that you can by something that will save you! as if it really would. anyway I'm still not accustom to it. using Tablet is a really hard thing to do I'm telling you. before I get it.. I felt that it was a must. as I know that the more you become digitized the more you can go on. but now that I have it.. I feel like I want to run away from it!

It's not the Tablet but it's me. it's my graduation nightmare. I still don't see the film in my mind. what keeps me from going on is that I hope that I come up with a new idea that will push everything. but still nothing. I think I'm stuck with the idea that "Galal" gave me. but it's just like a seed of a an idea, and it didn't grew up yet.

One Last Shot

Here I am.. in my last year at college! it all went pretty fast. yesterday I was a freshmen and today I'm going to be a graduate! I've had some nice time, I think I did well. but.. I still think of my self as a beginner. I look back and I don't see where or when  it all happened! while I was waiting to get a chance to make my first attempts and tryouts, now I'm supposed to make my last and full animation project in college. it's like the one last shot that will define you. it's my graduation project and it's deadline is 2 month or less from now!

I've taken too much time to think of an idea for the project, and I come up with nothing. my friend "Galal" gave me a small idea as a chance to work myself out of this. I don't know what's wrong, this is sick.

Anyway I did some tryouts to present the look and feel of the film to my teachers.. it was not the right thing as I knew it's not what I'm going for. it was just not right.

ETC

 Friend of my brother introduced us to the owner of a textile auxiliary company called The Egyptian Turkish Company (ETC) we made him a proposal for a website plan. and we showed him a demo website along with an advertising animation intro. we didn't get the job yet. but I'd say that unlike online marketing.. local marketing is really frustrating :-s

Car Wash

Another project I'm working on for "Apex", our partner in Virginia US got us a website for a car wash brand called "Mighty Spray Car Wash", the project turned into printing design advertising identity for the brand. this is the presentation I made.

This is the advertising flier, the strangest thing is that I did it in Flash instead of Illustrator! I guess I'm getting addicted to Flash now :-s

Aftershock

Our friend from Virginia US who was a client at first, now became more of a business partner to Apex. since my debut in actionscript "Hawaii Luxury Stone" he managed to get me more than one job. I'm very enthusiastic about the challenges.

Here is one job witch is in the same style, CMS included. it's a website for a company in flooring business called Better Floors Inc. I guess I started a luxury trend or something :)

Triumph

Apex gained some power. and now we have multiple online clients, we are fast learners, so we picked it up pretty fast. I've never thought that I'll get that good with code. it appears that I like programming after all, thanks to by brother who taught how to use actionscript. I'm discovering myself all over again.

My first full dynamic website was for a company that sells luxury granite called "Hawaii Luxury Stone" I did the website complete with a CMS (Control Management System) it's fully dynamic, fully interactive, easy to update and manage, very clean and neat and of course.. has a very high budget :D

The CMS part was more like application development. dragging and dropping, image cropping, real-time editing, auto-saving and error reporting system. it's all object oriented and full proof. for me.. it was a triumph!

I did it all in Flash! beside a little php scripting just for writing files and sending e-mails. It is so so sad that I can't show you the CMS but here is the link to the website itself :

Salata

It was a fun thing to do. me and a bunch of my old friends and neighbors decided to have our own online community! we called it "Salata" witch means "Salad" as an indication to the variety of  people and subjects on the forum. I built the website using a PHPBB script, and gave it a Template design, and a set of icons and emoticons.
